This varietal, created in 1961 by the National Institute of Agronomic Research, is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache.

Vineyards: Located in the heart of the Languedoc, near the Medievale Cité of Carcassonne and also the Canal du Midi, the vineyards of Pujol-Izard are worked in the respect of deep family traditions for the result of authentic cuvées.
Vinification: Machine harvest with selection of the grapesIn the vat for 15 days under the controlled temperatures between 20 to 25 degrees. Delicate extraction, aging in vat and then bottled.
Land: We replanted a parcel of family origin in the «Pech Pouillé», that has been operated by the family Biscan then Pujol for over 130 years.
Characteristics: Complex wine, colorful, very fragrant, with subtle and harmonious tannins. Balanced, round and also long in the mouth. A wine that can be enjoyed young.
Accompaniment: Serve at 17°C with wild rabbit or other tasty meats. It also works well as an appetizer with some spicy tapas.
